Amy Lee Coy
Amy Lee Coy is the author of From Death Do I Part: How I Freed Myself From Addiction, a book written for all addicts, but especially for those who have not been helped by Alcoholics Anonymous or drug and alcohol rehab facilities. From Death Do I Part is an intimate exposure of Amy's courageous journey through recovery from over 20 years of substance abuse—without the aid of conventional methods such as AA, psychiatry or medication. In her book, Amy shares with us her recovery process in such a way that not only is the reader engaged in her often gripping, always revealing stories, but they are also warmly invited into her healing process so that if they also struggle with addiction, they may learn to heal themselves as well. Amy firmly believes that people are not powerless over their substance-abuse related behavior. She believes that a person's personal power is "key" in overcoming addictive patterns and behavior. Amy knows from her own life that people can live successfully without the limiting and spiritually or psychologically depressing label of "alcoholic" or "recovering addict." Amy is a Self-Recovery certified coach and mentor, specializing in addictions. She is also the author and illustrator of the children's book, Duke Devlin the Daring Dogie. Amy is a singer-songwriter (she wrote and sang all the songs on the the 2011 music CD, Melty Mind Thing and is currently recording a new album). Amy lives in Southern California and will be offerring Self-Recovery–Recovery of Self™ Workshops in 2012. Sign Up for info here. Amy has also created Illumine Room, a self-recovery support show. |
