"I have read countless children's books (over and over) to my daughter, Georgia Peaches, for the last 2.5 years. The illustrations and the text are just right. At first I was nervous about reading her a book about a pregnant cow that disappears after giving birth, given that Georgia's understanding of my pregnancy will only increase over the next 7 months, but Georgia is gripped by the dogie's journey and interactions with folks along the way—she totally "gets" this book. But don't take my word for it... I read it to her the day we got it and when we got home the next day she kept saying, 'Where's the new cow book? Where's the new cow book?' I had to read it to her THREE times last night and then my husband jumped in for a few rounds. Later I could hear her in her room repeating in her own cute pronunciation: 'Doook Deh-ev-a-lin. Doook Deh-ev-a-lin.'
So the proof is in the pudding, or rather, in The Peach!"
